This shrub has a beautifully perfumed flower, as well as long needle-like leaves, and long narrow fruit which is pointed like a dagger. It is not surprising therefore that this remedy is used for those who are a bit "prickly" and whose words can be sharp barbs at times. These people may hold old grudges against those to whom they have been very close, such as family members and past lovers.
This remedy primarily brings about the open expression of feelings and forgiveness. It helps people work through and resolve intense feelings of resentment and bitterness, which are usually directed towards those who have been very close to them. At times these people's feelings are so intense that they are overwhelming, so they keep their feelings of resentment locked inside. Sometimes these people seem very sweet natured, but there is a lot of anger behind the facade.
This is a wonderful remedy when a relationship has ended or a family feud has developed. In the former case, before people can release a former lover or friend, they have to work through their feelings, especially if the other person ended the relationship. A lot of resentment and bitterness can build up if people feel that they have been unfairly treated.
A Forgiveness Process is available which is very beneficial for people wanting to work through and resolve their resentments and bitterness. Even greater results can be achieved if the person takes Dagger Hakea beginning several days before doing the process, and then continuing to take it afterwards.
Dagger Hakea has a draining and stimulating effect on the liver, one of the major channels of elimination in the body. It may also be useful in treating allergies which can be attributed, at least to some extent, to the individual not being able to resolve annoyance, irritation or resentment they feel towards another. This then becomes internalised so that they start to become annoyed and irritated by the food or environmental factors such as pollens.
